Steffen Haanes

Steffen Haanes is a Norwegian/Danish clown and actor — and the man behind The Master.

He trained at École Philippe Gaulier and performs internationally.

Alongside Gregory Lass, Steffen created the cult hit The Ritual, which enjoyed sell-out Edinburgh Fringe runs from 2021 through 2026, several successful runs at the Edinburgh Horror Festival, and monthly shows at The Bill Murray in London. In October 2026, Steffen and Gregory brought The Ritual to Soho Theatre for sell-out shows on 30–31 October.

In 2025, Steffen supported Britain’s Got Talent winner Viggo Venn across his entire international tour. He is also a featured player in the late-night variety spectacle Stamptown Comedy Night. The Stamptown special is now on Netflix ↗

Online, Steffen brings The Master’s spooky comedy into everyday life, sharing videos on Instagram and TikTok.
